Are you fascinated by the whole concept of sleep? Why do we do it and why is restful sleep is so important.
To begin answering this question we need to understand the downside, that long term sleep deprivation will lead to death just as certainly as being deprived of water.
According to WikiPedia, "Sleep is a naturally recurring state of relatively suspended sensory and motor activity, characterized by total or partial unconsciousness and the inactivity of nearly all voluntary muscles."
At that time you will sleep for as little as 4 seconds or as much as 30 seconds, most of the time without realizing that you've been asleep?
This is what makes driving so dangerous for people who've been "burning the candle at both ends", as the old saying goes.
If we know that going without sleep is dangerous and risky, shouldn't we also know about the benefits of restful sleep?
The mechanics and purpose of sleep aren't really understood...even by those who study it.

A good night's sleep can even lower blood pressure and stress hormones that are a part of our high performance lifestyles.
A good sleep routine can improve your memory and also help you lose weight.
Yes, you heard me right, weight loss is another of the many benefits of a healthy sleep routine.
Sleep helps regulate and control the hormones that affect the control of your appetite, especially for the right foods.
Lack of sleep will lead to craving the foods that are high in calories, fats and carbs.
So, get your proper sleep and stay slimmer!
